What is Excessive Sweating? Excessive sweating or Hyperhidrosis is a medical condition described as
sweating beyond what is necessary to cool the body which can have a serious
impact on self-confidence, personal relationships and even career success.
There are two types of Hyperhidrosis: 1)Focal or Primary Hyperhidrosis affects local areas such as the
underarms, palms, feet and face due to an over-stimulation of the nerve to
release a chemical called acetylcholine which over-activates the sweat gland
to produce more sweat. 2)Generalized or Secondary Hyperhidrosis usually affects the entire
body due to conditions such as menopause, metabolic disorders, neurological
disorders, infections, etc.
